India's squad for T20 World Cup and the MS Dhoni factor.

 India has selected the squad for the T20 world cup to be held in UAE. There were not many surprises with 10 out of 15 already being selected. The rest 5 were the ones where the fans were eager to know who they were especially Ashwin would be very pleased to get selected. Had the World Cup be held anywhere else he would have probably not get selected.

                  Batting - Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Rishab Pant .

This seems to be the best bating attack that India has got at present. All of these will be making it to the playing XI undoubtedly. The opening combination might vary depending on the IPL or let's say the England series where Rahul and Rohit have looked solid. 

                               All-rounders - Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja.

9 out of the 10 times they will make it to the squad with their round ability. With Jadeja batting looking solid and bowling spin he will be the one to watch out in the tournament. Hardik and Jadeja if required can share their quota of 4 overs left by the 5th bowler. 

                 Bowlers - Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah, Shami, Ashwin, Chahar, Varun                                         Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel.

Here would be the real battle to select 4 out of the 7 bowlers on the match day. This would go down to many factors like spin variety against the particular team and the matchups. Bumrah and Bhuvi/Shami take the 2 fast bowling slots. The rest 2 would majorly be Ashwin (given his experience in powerplay) and the toss-up between Chahar and Varun ( Leg spin options).

The MS Dhoni Factor.

Many would be surprised to see Dhoni in the mentorship role as there was no indication of this before. But this has come at the right time. He was the one who had mentored the likes of Kohli Ashwin and Rohit and to have him at the T20 world cup would be a big asset.

Remember India has not been good at pressure situations at the knockouts. This could be one of the major reasons for Dhoni's arrival as a mentor. To think in a broader sense this could not just be a single assignment for MSD but one of the many. With the stature, he has built for himself and the gameplan he possesses he would be among the important member of the coaching staff going ahead.
