I will give you three reasons why Kedar Jadhav will not go unsold in IPL 2021. As shocking it may sound to you, there are a few possibilities we can't deny. IPL 2021 auction is around the corner and everyone is looking forward to Kedar Jadhav's name to go under the hammer. I am sure by now you know that the auction price set by Kedar Jadhav is 2 Crore. He is joined by notable names like Glenn Maxwell, Jason Roy and Steve Smith in the same price bracket.
After a disappointing season last year, everyone assumed that retirement of India's side arm bowler was imminent. He scored just 62 runs from 8 matches with strike rate of 93.9 failing to connect the ball for good.
These are the three reasons why I believe Kedar Jadhav will be playing IPL for one more season:
1. Local Player
As per the latest development, IPL 2021 is going to be conducted across 5 venues in the state of Maharashtra to reduce travel risk. Kedar Jadhav was born in Pune, Maharashtra and has been playing for the state team of Maharashtra at domestic level since 2007.
There are not many talented picks left for the teams to buy among the local players. Shivam Dube is the only other local cricketer in the auction who can generate very high interest.
2. Experience
Many teams lack experienced Indian middle order batsmen who can guide the youngsters in the middle and steer the innings. Rajasthan Royals expected Robin Uthappa to play similar role last year. Uthappa failed to create a significant impact as Royals finished last in the points table. SRH is another team which can benefit from Kedar's experience. It will also allow David Warner and Manish Pandey to play freely at top of the order.
Kedar can also bowl part time overs with his side arm action. His bullet throws from the deep cover position can make sure that Sunil Gavaskar keeps complaining about converting 1s into 2s. He is a complete package for any team if he scores some runs for the team without putting too much pressure.
3. Recent Form
In the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 tournament of India, Kedar scored 193 runs at an average of 48.3 and strike rate of 133.1 from 5 matches. He also scored his highest ever T20 score of 84*. He looks motivated to play one more season and retire with respect.
